Rocker Redo

A few weeks back I went junk sale-ling with my friend Lizz who was in town visiting from St. Louis, MO. We stumbled upon a sale in a parking lot and started digging through the junk. I found this old broken rocker for only $3. All it needed was the leg spindle to be reglued back into the hole. That was easy enough. And I even got my husband to do that for me while I was juggling the other 5,572 projects I was working on.





After some trial and error* I primed and painted it antique white. I used a scrap piece of foam to comfort my tush and some of my favorite fabric to make me smile.

I now have this to rock the baby before bed:

*How can I avoid brush strokes? And why does my mom's paint sprayer splutter?! Its a $100 sprayer from lowes. They used it to paint the outside of the house a couple years back. It works sometimes, but most of the time it splutters. :/

Home sweet home

We just completed a very last minute move to a bigger apartment. The girls now have their own rooms, and mom and dad have their own bed. yippee.

The biggest improvement has been the light and fresh air. We now have a kitchen window that faces south and a dining window that faces west. I didn't even realize what I was missing until I went to work on the old apartment and saw how dark and stuffy it was. How depressing. No wonder I was lacking in energy and inspiration.

To prove how drastic the change has been... we didn't turn on the television ONCE yesterday!

I really feel happy and at HOME here. :)

Have you missed me? Want to know what I have been busy with? Here are some hints...
I dont think I have any before pics. So the inprogress pictures will have to do.

So, Part* of the reason that these things are taking longer then they should is because I just cant decide and commit to an idea. There are just way too many options on how to beautify these things.
What do you guys think?

*The other part is that I'm a mom with 2 lil kids and I do all of this work at MY mom's house which is 20 minutes away.
